The first of three scheduled games this season between Nebraska and Creighton went for the Blue Jays.
Creighton topped Nebraska 5-3 Tuesday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. NU falls to 20-6 while CU improves to 21-4.
The result ends Nebraska’s 10 game winning streak.
The Blue Jays struck first with a two-run home run in the second inning. They added three more runs in the fourth inning, ultimately having enough for the victory.
Nebraska managed a pair of runs in the sixth inning and one more in the seventh, but the last ditch effort in the ninth inning saw the Huskers go strike out, pop out, walk, and strike out to end the game.
Will Walsh took the loss, pitching just 2.0 innings and giving up two runs, both earned, on four hits. Eight Huskers took to the Hill, with Tucker Timmerman tossing a team-high 2.2 innings.
Nebraska notched seven hits, led by two hits each from Cayden Brumbaugh and Riley Silva.
NU returns home this weekend to host Ohio State for a three game series.
